BEWARE OF THE LURES OF THE WORLD, 警惕世间的诱惑

💡BEWARE OF THE LURES OF THE WORLD💡

Allah, the Exalted, said:

"And do not extend your eyes toward that by which We have given enjoyment to [some] categories of them [its being but] the splendor of worldly life by which We test them. And the provision of your Lord is better and more enduring." (Quran, Surah Ta-Ha: 131)

Ibn Kathir, may Allah have mercy on him, said:

Allah, the Exalted, said to His Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him: Do not look at the luxurious life of those people and their companions and the blessings they have, because it is merely a fleeting bloom that will vanish, to test them. Few of My servants are grateful.

Mujahid said: "Categories of them" means the rich. Allah has given you goodness better than what He has given them, as stated in another verse: "And We have certainly given you, [O Muhammad], seven of the often repeated [verses] and the great Qur'an. Do not extend your eyes toward that by which We have given enjoyment to [some] categories of them." (Quran, Surah Al-Hijr: 87-88). Similarly, what Allah has prepared for His Messenger in the Hereafter is magnificent, infinite, and unimaginable, as Allah, the Exalted, said: "And your Lord is going to give you, and you will be satisfied." (Quran, Surah Ad-Duha: 5). Therefore, Allah said: "And the provision of your Lord is better and more enduring."

In an authentic hadith, it is mentioned that when Umar ibn Khattab entered the room where the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, was staying after he had distanced himself from his wives, having sworn to stay away from them, Umar saw him lying on a mat made of palm leaves, and there were only a few leaves and a hanging skin in the room. Umar's eyes filled with tears. The Messenger of Allah asked, "What makes you cry?" Umar replied, "O Messenger of Allah, the Persian Emperor and the Roman Caesar live in luxury, while you are the chosen one of Allah among His creation?" The Messenger of Allah said, "Are you still in doubt, O son of Khattab? They are a people whose good has been hastened for them in this world."

The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, was the most ascetic person in this world, even though he could have had worldly wealth. If he received it, he would distribute it among Allah's servants and not keep anything for himself for the next day.

Ibn Abi Hatim said: Yunus narrated to us, Ibn Wahb told us, Malik narrated to us from Zaid ibn Aslam from Ata' ibn Yasar from Abu Sa'id that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Indeed, what I fear most for you is what Allah will bring forth from the flowers of this world." They asked: "What are the flowers of this world, O Messenger of Allah?" He replied: "The blessings of the earth."

Qatadah and Al-Suddi said: "The flowers of worldly life means the adornments of worldly life."

Qatadah said: "To test them" means to test them.

BEWARE OF THE LURES OF THE WORLD, 警惕世间的诱惑
