**Prohibition of Glorifying Scholars**
Allah Ta'ala said:
ٱتَّخَذُوٓا۟ أَحْبَارَهُمْ وَرُهْبَٰنَهُمْ أَرْبَابًا مِّن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ وَٱلْمَسِيحَ ٱبْنَ مَرْيَمَ وَمَآ أُمِرُوٓا۟ إِلَّا لِيَعْبُدُوٓا۟ إِلَٰهًا وَٰحِدًا ۖ لَّآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ ۚ سُبْحَٰنَهُۥ عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ
“They (the People of the Book) took their rabbis and their monks to be their lords besides Allah, and (also) the Messiah, son of Mary, while they were commanded to worship none but one God. There is no deity worthy of worship but Him. Exalted is He above whatever they associate with Him." (At-Tawbah: 31)
Shaykh Ibn Nasir As-Sa'di (may Allah have mercy on him) said:
"They (the Jews and Christians) {اتَّخَذُوا أَحْبَارَهُمْ} (took their rabbis), meaning their scholars, and {وَرُهْبَانَهُمْ} (their monks), meaning their monks who were deeply engaged in worship, {أَرْبَابًا مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ} (as lords besides Allah), permitting for them what Allah forbade, so they permitted it, and forbidding for them what Allah permitted, so they forbade it. They established laws and sayings that contradicted the religion of the messengers, and they followed them.
They also exaggerated in honoring their sheikhs and worshippers, glorifying them, and turned their graves into idols that were worshipped besides Allah, for sacrifices, prayers, and requests for help.
They even took {وَالْمَسِيحَ ابْنَ مَرْيَمَ} (the Messiah, son of Mary) as a deity besides Allah, while they disobeyed Allah’s command conveyed through His messengers, which was that they were only commanded to worship one deity. {لا إِلَهَ إِلا هُوَ} There is no god worthy of worship except Him. They were commanded to sincerely dedicate their worship and obedience to Him alone and reserve their love and prayers only for Him. However, they abandoned Allah’s command and associated Him with things for which no authority was sent.
Truly, {سُبْحَانَهُ} Glory be to Him {عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ} above what they associate with Him. This means that Allah is pure and exalted, far above the polytheism and lies they fabricate, as they degrade Him by ascribing to Him what is unbefitting of His majesty. Allah Ta'ala is far above in His attributes and actions from all that they falsely associate with Him, contrary to His perfect purity.”

**Das Verbot der Verherrlichung von Gelehrten**
Allah Ta'ala sagte:
ٱتَّخَذُوٓا۟ أَحْبَارَهُمْ وَرُهْبَٰنَهُمْ أَرْبَابًا مِّن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ وَٱلْمَسِيحَ ٱبْنَ مَرْيَمَ وَمَآ أُمِرُوٓا۟ إِلَّا لِيَعْبُدُوٓا۟ إِلَٰهًا وَٰحِدًا ۖ لَّآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ ۚ سُبْحَٰنَهُۥ عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ
„Sie (die Leute der Schrift) nahmen ihre Rabbiner und Mönche zu Herren neben Allah und auch den Messias, den Sohn der Maria, obwohl ihnen befohlen war, nur den einen Gott anzubeten. Es gibt keinen Gott außer Ihm. Gepriesen sei Er über das, was sie Ihm beigesellen." (At-Tawbah: 31)
Scheich Ibn Nasir As-Sa'di (möge Allah sich seiner erbarmen) sagte:
„Sie (die Juden und Christen) {اتَّخَذُوا أَحْبَارَهُمْ} (nahmen ihre Rabbiner), also ihre Gelehrten, und {وَرُهْبَانَهُمْ} (ihre Mönche), das heißt, ihre Mönche, die tief im Gottesdienst versunken waren, {أَرْبَابًا مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ} (zu Herren neben Allah), indem sie ihnen erlaubten, was Allah verboten hatte, also erlaubten sie es, und indem sie ihnen verboten, was Allah erlaubt hatte, also verboten sie es. Sie setzten Gesetze und Aussagen fest, die der Religion der Gesandten widersprachen, und sie folgten ihnen.
Sie übertrieben auch in der Verehrung ihrer Scheichs und Gottesdiener, verherrlichten sie und machten ihre Gräber zu Götzen, die neben Allah angebetet wurden, für Opfer, Gebete und Hilfeersuchen.
Sie nahmen sogar {وَالْمَسِيحَ ابْنَ مَرْيَمَ} (den Messias, den Sohn der Maria) als Gottheit neben Allah, obwohl sie dem Befehl Allahs widersprachen, der durch die Zunge Seiner Gesandten verkündet wurde, dass sie nur angewiesen wurden, eine Gottheit anzubeten. {لا إِلَهَ إِلا هُوَ} Es gibt keinen Gott außer Ihm, der anbetungswürdig ist, und sie wurden angewiesen, ihre Anbetung und ihren Gehorsam allein aufrichtig Ihm zu widmen und ihre Liebe und Gebete nur Ihm zu widmen. Doch sie verließen Allahs Befehl und gesellten Ihm Dinge bei, für die keine Rechtleitung offenbart wurde.
Wahrlich, {سُبْحَانَهُ} Gepriesen sei Er {عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ} über das, was sie Ihm beigesellen. Das bedeutet, dass Allah rein und erhaben ist, weit über den Polytheismus und die Lügen, die sie erfinden, denn sie erniedrigen Ihn, indem sie Ihm zuschreiben, was Seiner Majestät nicht würdig ist. Allah Ta'ala ist weit über alle falschen Zuschreibungen in Seinen Eigenschaften und Taten erhaben, die Seiner vollkommenen Reinheit widersprechen.”
