💡ABU IDRIS AL-KHOULANI (Tabi'in, d. 80 AH) 💡
'Aaidzulloh bin Abdillah bin Amr** or said to be Abdullah bin Idris bin A'id bin Abdullah bin Utbah bin Ghilan, known as Abu Idris Al-Khoulani Al-'Awzi or Al-'Iydhi.
Makhul said: "I have never seen anyone more knowledgeable than him." Az-Zuhri said: "He was a storyteller (historian) and a judge in Sham during the caliphate of Abdul Malik." Sa'id bin Abdul Aziz said: "Abu Idris was the scholar of Sham after Abu Darda." Abu Zur'ah Ad-Dimashqi said: "The best person to have met the companions of the Prophet in Sham was Jubair bin Nufair and Abu Idris." Then I (Abu Zur'ah) said to Duhaiym: "Who is more prominent among them?" He replied: "Abu Idris." Abu Zur'ah said: "Abu Idris narrated from the Tabi'in more than Jubair bin Nufair. However, there is no authentic narration from Abu Idris directly hearing from Mu'adh bin Jabal. If Abu Idris narrates from Mu'adh, he attributes it to Yazid bin Umairah."
Abu Zur'ah said: "Muhammad bin Abu Umar narrated from Ibn Uyaynah from Az-Zuhri from Abu Idris that he met Ubadah bin As-Samit, Abu Darda, and Shaddad bin Aus, but did not meet Mu'adh bin Jabal." Abu Zur'ah also said: "Muhammad bin Al-Mubarak narrated to us from Al-Walid bin Muslim from Yazid bin Abi Maryam from Abu Idris, who said: 'I sat behind Mu'adh bin Jabal when he was praying. When he finished his prayer, I said, "I truly love you for the sake of Allah."'"
Abu Zur'ah said: "Hisham narrated from Sadaqah from Ibn Jabir from 'Ata Al-Khurasani, who said: 'I heard Abu Idris say something similar.' He also said: 'Sulaiman narrated to me from Khalid bin Yazid bin Abi Malik from Abu Idris.'"
Abu Zur'ah said: "Abu Idris narrated from Abu Muslim Al-Khaulani and Abdurrahman bin Ghanm. Both of them narrated this hadith from Mu'adh. Az-Zuhri noted that Abu Idris did not hear from Mu'adh, but the hadith was from the two of them." Abu Umar bin Abd Al-Barr said: "The mention of Abu Idris by Sya'bi from Mu'adh is considered authentic from the narration of Abu Hazim and others. Perhaps the narration from Az-Zuhri that 'I missed hearing from Mu'adh bin Jabal' is in a specific context. However, his meeting and hearing (from Mu'adh) is authentic and without doubt. Al-Walid bin Muslim was once asked whether Abu Idris met Mu'adh bin Jabal, and he replied: 'Yes, he met Mu'adh bin Jabal and Abu Ubaidah, and he was ten years old when he was born on the day of the Battle of Hunain.' I heard Sa'id bin Abdul Aziz say that. Ibn Ma'in and others said that he died in the year 80 AH. I said that if he was born during the Battle of Hunain, which occurred at the end of the eighth year of Hijrah, and Mu'adh died in the year 18 AH, then his age at the time of Mu'adh's death was about nine and a half years or so. It is unlikely that a child of that age would interact with Mu'adh in the mosque or speak with him in the manner narrated."
The summary made by Ibn Abd Al-Barr was previously achieved by Al-Tahawi in "Mushkilah", and he presented it from many chains to Abu Idris that he heard from Mu'adh and Ubadah with the mentioned story. Al-'Ajli said: "He was a trustworthy Tabi'in from Damascus." Abu Hatim, An-Nasai, and Ibn Sa'ad said that he was trustworthy. Abu Masher said: "We did not find any records about him after the time of Abdul Malik." Al-Haitham bin Adi said that he died during the time of Abdul Malik. Ath-Thabari mentioned him in "Thabaqat Al-Fuqaha" as one of the few scholars of Sham who were knowledgeable in religious law, halal, and haram. Malik narrated from Abu Hazim from Abu Idris that he said: "I entered the Mosque of Damascus and found a young man with brilliant teeth. I asked about him, and they said that it was Mu'adh.
The next day I came early and found him praying. When he finished, I greeted him and said, 'By Allah, I strive to be close to you...'" This is the hadith mentioned by Ibn Abd Al-Barr. Al-Bukhari said: "He did not hear from Umar." Ibn Hibban in "Ats-Tsiqat" said that Abdul Malik appointed him as a judge after dismissing Bilal bin Abu Darda, and he was one of the worshippers in Sham and one of their Qur'an memorizers. He did not hear from Mu'adh. Ibn Abu Hatim said: "Abu Idris heard from Mu'adh." But he said, "They differed in opinion about this. However, in my opinion, he did not hear from him."
He narrated from (his teachers): Umar bin Khattab, Abu Darda, Mu'adh bin Jabal, Abu Dharr, Bilal, Thawban, Hudhayfah, Ubadah bin As-Samit, Auf bin Malik, Al-Mughirah, Mu'awiyah, An-Nu'was bin Sam'an, Abu Tsa'labah Al-Khushani, Abu Hurairah, Abu Sa'id, Hassan bin Adh-Dhamri, Abdullah bin Dailami, Abdullah bin As-Sa'di, Umair bin Sa'd, Wathilah bin Al-Asqa', Yazid bin Umairah Az-Zubaidi, Abu Muslim Al-Khaulani, and others.
And narrated from him (his students): Az-Zuhri, Rabi'ah bin Yazid, Basr bin Ubaidullah, Abdullah bin Rabi'ah bin Yazid, Al-Qasim bin Muhammad, Al-Walid bin Abdurrahman bin Abi Malik, Yunus bin Maisarah bin Halbas, Abu 'Aun Al-Ansari, Yunus bin Syaif, Makhul, Shahr bin Hawshab, Abu Hazim Salamah bin Dinar, and others.

💡ABU IDRIS AL-KHOULANI (Tabi'in, d. 80 AH) 💡
Han fortalte fra (hans lærere): Umar bin Khattab, Abu Darda, Mu'adh bin Jabal, Abu Dharr, Bilal, Thawban, Hudhayfah, Ubadah bin As-Samit, Auf bin Malik, Al-Mughirah, Mu'awiyah, An-Nu'was bin Sam'an, Abu Tsa'labah Al-Khushani, Abu Hurairah, Abu Sa'id, Hassan bin Adh-Dhamri, Abdullah bin Dailami, Abdullah bin As-Sa'di, Umair bin Sa'd, Wathilah bin Al-Asqa', Yazid bin Umairah Az-Zubaidi, Abu Muslim Al-Khaulani og andre.
Og fortalte fra ham (hans elever): Az-Zuhri, Rabi'ah bin Yazid, Basr bin Ubaidullah, Abdullah bin Rabi'ah bin Yazid, Al-Qasim bin Muhammad, Al-Walid bin Abdurrahman bin Abi Malik, Yunus bin Maisarah bin Halbas, Abu 'Aun Al-Ansari, Yunus bin Syaif, Makhul, Shahr bin Hawshab, Abu Hazim Salamah bin Dinar og andre.
