In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
💡 KNOWING ALLAH 💡
Allah the Most High said,
"Say: 'Call upon Allah or call upon Ar-Rahman. By whatever name you call Him, to Him belong the best names. Do not be too loud in your prayer nor be too quiet, but seek a way between.'" (Qur'an, Al-Isra: 110)
"He is Allah, there is no god (has the right to be worshipped) but Him, He has the best names." (Qur'an, Ta-Ha: 8)
"He is Allah, the Creator, the Maker, the Shaper, to Him belong the best names. All that is in the heavens and the earth glorifies Him. And He is the Almighty, the All-Wise." (Qur'an, Al-Hashr: 24)
Let us know Allah the Most High through His names and attributes, including:
1. Allah is One, the Only One worthy of worship:
"Allah witnesses that there is no god (has the right to be worshipped) but Him, and so do the angels and those with knowledge. He maintains justice. There is no god but Him, the Almighty, the All-Wise." (Qur'an, Al-Imran: 18)
"Say: 'He is Allah, the One.'" (Qur'an, Al-Ikhlas: 1)
2. Allah exists absolutely without being created:
"Were they created from nothing, or were they themselves the creators?" (Qur'an, At-Tur: 35)
3. Allah is eternal, without beginning or end:
"And the Face of your Lord, full of Majesty and Honor, will abide forever." (Qur'an, Ar-Rahman: 27)
The meaning of Allah's name Al-Awwal (The First) is that He exists before everything else, and His name Al-Akhir (The Last) means everything else will perish, and the Face of your Lord, full of Majesty and Honor, will remain.
4. Allah is unlike anything:
"The Creator of the heavens and the earth. He has made for you from yourselves, mates, and among the cattle, mates; by this means, He multiplies you. There is nothing like Him, and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Seeing." (Qur'an, Ash-Shura: 11)
5. Allah is not a created being but the Creator:
"Allah is the Creator of the heavens and the earth. When He decrees a matter, He only says to it, 'Be,' and it is." (Qur'an, Al-Baqarah: 117)
6. Allah is the Most High, above the heavens, established upon the Throne:
"He it is who created for you all that is in the earth. Then He turned to the heaven, and made them seven heavens. And He has perfect knowledge of all things." (Qur'an, Al-Baqarah: 29)
"He it is who created the heavens and the earth in six Days; then He mounted the Throne. He knows what goes into the earth and what comes out of it, and what comes down from the heaven and what ascends into it. And He is with you wherever you may be. And Allah sees all that you do." (Qur'an, Al-Hadid: 4)
"And the angels will be on its sides, and eight will, that Day, bear the Throne of your Lord above them." (Qur'an, Al-Haqqah: 17)
7. Allah knows everything, nothing is hidden from Him:
"With Him are the keys of the unseen; none knows them except Him. He knows what is in the land and the sea. Not a leaf falls but He knows it. There is not a grain in the darkness of the earth or anything fresh or dry but it is written in a clear Record." (Qur'an, Al-An'am: 59)
"Have you not considered that Allah knows what is in the heavens and what is in the earth? There is no secret talk among three, but He is their fourth, nor among five but He is their sixth, nor fewer nor more but He is with them wherever they may be. Then He will inform them of what they did, on the Day of Resurrection. Verily, Allah is All-Knower of everything." (Qur'an, Al-Mujadilah: 7)
